and I’m feeling good.
Let us love winter, for it is the spring of genius.
Pietro Aretino
I am rendered speechless by those who say that they hate winter and can’t wait for spring.
Every single day is different in the winter landscape. The angle of light is low and the reflection off of snow if you’re lucky to get some, turns the outdoors into a studio!
Pinks, blues, and purples abound in the most harmonious blends and the intimate landscapes are filled with snowflakes, ice, and frost.
On this morning fog lifting off of the lake lent atmosphere and added a hazy beauty to the bridge that our town is well known for, all bathed in a wash of pinks and blues.
There are moments within every day if you keep your eyes and mind open and aren’t afraid to bundle up!
It’s also a new year…where will that take you?
Beautiful photo. I am glad I get to share winter through your photographs.
well i have to admit to being one of those folks that render you speechless…..winter is not my favorite time of year…i have over the years learned to accept and even enjoy aspects….and of course the light and the shapes the snow makes….all very beautiful for sure! I’m not as hateful of it now that i don’t have to deal with small children, driving in horrid weather …. now i have a choice! we’ve just had about 8 ” overnight…and the sun is shining and it does look very beautiful out there!!! thanks for your blog…and i still miss you on Blip tho :(….Happy New Year! cheers, Linda
I found your picture to be gorgeously calm and beautifully soothing. But winter often is more rambunctious and cold and it leaves that white stuff that you have to shovel. But I’m happy that you love winter and you do so aptly portray this love, in your pictures.
Soothing, inspiring, sublime! A great year to you, Sheryl xxx
Loved your title…Sung by Michael Buble, another of my favorite Canadians, like you! I agree that the skies are the most vibrant and glorious in the winter, bluest blues from the mountain top and sunsets & sunrises like this one you captured, spectacular! Happy New Year!
I hope to use this new year to see and enjoy and be more present, and open the mind and eyes to appreciate what’s already there. Photography’s a great way to facilitate that, as you show with every one of your images.
Yeah. U go girl!
